Cotecna’s UAE Market Access Programs

As a trusted partner of the United Arab Emirates, Cotecna is approved to support MoIAT programs and perform conformity assessments of various products, including cosmetics, perfumes, food contact materials and more. Our role is to assess and verify the compliance of products that will be exported to the UAE in accordance with all regulations, rules, and specifications approved by MoIAT.

The UAE Conformity Assessment Program aims to protect businesses from fraud and ensure that products are free from defects that may affect the health and safety of consumers. The program also creates a more competitive environment for local businesses.

Currently Approved Product Categories:

Cotecna provides conformity assessments for the following product categories, ensuring that they meet UAE, regional, or international standards:

• Cosmetics: Evaluation includes safety, packaging and labeling requirements.
• Perfumes: Assessment of ingredients, packaging, and labeling to meet specific UAE standards.
• Food Contact Materials (FCM): Ensuring materials meet safety regulations for contact with food.
• Bottled Drinking Water: Conforming the safety and compliance of all bottled water.
• Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS): Testing and certification to ensure electronic products are free from restricted substances.
• Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (LVE): Verifying the compliance of all regulated LVEs ensuring they meet electrical safety standards.
• Energy Efficiency Rating (EER): Certifying products for energy efficiency compliance.
• Paints: Ensuring the compliance of products with environmental and safety standards.
• Industrial Measurement Systems.

Cotecna is able to verify the conformity of regulated products under these categories according to set UAE regulations, rules, and specifications approved by MoIAT.

UAE MIOAT Certification Process

• Initiate the Process: Start by submitting the Cotecna Request for Certification (RFC) form. This form begins the evaluation process necessary for market access.
• Document Verification: Provide the necessary documents to demonstrate compliance with UAE standards:
  • Cotecna Request for Certification form
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Valid UAE Industry/Trade License
  • Product Identity Declaration (PID) (if applicable)
  • Conformity documents, such as laboratory test reports from an ISO 17025 accredited lab, technical data sheets, and Quality Management System certificates.
• Laboratory Testing: If existing test reports are incomplete, Cotecna will conduct necessary tests at an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory to ensure compliance.
• Issuance of Certificate of Conformity: Upon successful verification and testing, Cotecna will issue a Certificate of Conformity. This certificate is required for UAE Customs clearance.
