Steps to Certification

1. Application Submission:

• Clients initiate the certification process by submitting the Request for Certification Form (RFC).
• Necessary documents include a valid Industry/Trade License, Product Identity Declaration, and comprehensive Technical Documentation.

2. Document Review and Evaluation:

• Cotecna reviews all submitted documents to ensure they meet BTMD’s certification criteria.
• This includes an in-depth analysis of performance test reports and technical documentation provided by the client.

3. Testing and Compliance Verification:

• If required, additional testing by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory is conducted to verify product compliance with applicable performance standards.
• Evaluation of test reports and technical compliance to ensure the product meets the specific EER requirements.

4. Certification Decision:

• Upon successful document review and testing, Cotecna issues a EER Certificate, confirming the product’s compliance with Bahrain's EER standards.

5. Post-Certification Monitoring:

Cotecna conducts ongoing surveillance to ensure continued compliance with the EER standards, involving periodic reviews and market surveillance.

Product Registration and Market Entry

Products successfully certified under the EER scheme are registered and listed on BTMD certified products registry. Manufacturers are provided with energy labels and the certification necessary for market entry into Bahrain.
