Cotecna Participates in a Joint ARSO and ZABS Webinar

We are pleased to share that Mr Wesley Aondo Cotecna’s Country Manager for Kenya and Regional VOC Manager for East and Southern Africa represented Cotecna at the recent ARSO webinar. The webinar themed "TRENDS IN CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT PRACTICES AND BARRIERS TO TRADE" was co-hosted by the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) and ZABS (Zambia Bureau of Standards).

This event provided a significant platform for Cotecna to showcase its vital role in promoting consumer safety and confidence across the continent.

The webinar was hosted by Dr. Hermogene Nsengimana, Secretary-General of ARSO, and co-hosted by Nathan Sing'ambwa, Executive Director of ZABS. Cotecna had the important role of demystifying the role of conformity assessment. Through comprehensive testing, inspection, and certification services, conformity bodies like Cotecna play a pivotal role in streamlining trade processes and safeguarding consumer interests.

With a vast presence in Africa, Cotecna is involved in various conformity assessment programs, including the CBCA in Zimbabwe, SONCAP in Nigeria, and the PCEC program in Congo to mention a few. Our vast experience enabled Mr Aondo to share his expertise during the webinar.

The event was attended by participants from ISO CASCO namely CRISTINA Drahici, SADAC’s CEO DR. EVE Gadzikwa, ZABS and more. This allowed for an engaging discussion and learning experience for all. The interactions not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also fostered partnerships aimed at enhancing conformity assessment practices and promoting harmonization across the region.
