Textile product refers to any raw, semi-worked, worked, semi-manufactured, manufactured, semi-made-up or made-up product which is exclusively composed of textile fibres, regardless of the mixing or assembly process employed. Textile manufacturing is highly regulated to ensure the quality and safety of finished products.

• Potential of Hydrogen
• Formaldehyde
• Penta and Quatra "choro phenol, (PCP, TeCP and OPP)
• Heavy metals
• Dyes and derivatives that are suspected of being hazardous.
• "Carcinogenic amines" found in "Azo" dyes.
• Flame retardants.
• Chlorinated organic compounds (chlorinated benzenes, toluenes and naphthalene)
• Phthalates

What is covered under textile?

Here are some types of textile products:

• New clothes or ready to use/wear.
• Textile/fabric dedicated to dressmaking in whatever form.
• Ready-made textiles dedicated to internal usage, which included products of furnishings, curtains, carpets, mattresses, and their accessories.
• Any products which textiles are found in its composition by no less than 80% of its weight.

Textile Marking and labelling

Additionally, to comply with regulatory requirements, textile markings and labels are mandatory as they provide information about the fibres used in making the textile product. To guarantee correct and standardised information, so that the consumers are able to make informed decisions, the label must show descriptions of textile fibre components. The information on the label should be indicated in a manner that is easily legible, visible, clear.
